May 11th - Thirteenth Class

Hello Amazing Students!

The OPEN HOUSE will be next class, MAY 18th, 12:30pm, Area 3 (next to the Auditorium)


Remember to bring everything you need for your presentation (brochure, 3D model, table, activities, etc).

By Monday send via email (one per team):
  • Create an interactive activity for parents involving something related to your nation. You use eye-catching materials and you will ONLY speak in English.
  • Example: teach the national dance (bring props for them to use)
  • Create one piece of art that represents your nation. - Write a brief Curational rationale and the story of the Artist (at least 300 words)
  • Make a brochure with 5 - Touristic places (2 Museums, 1 Sculpture, 1 Old house/Building and 1 more you will decide. Explain the type of things we can find there, why is it popular, why it should be visited, price, location, days and hours open to tourists.

Bring for next class:
  • Material to create the Nation´s Flag (cloth, paper, colors, etc)
  • Bring prizes for your game/activity.
  • Open House brochure to support your presentation. - Must include: Environment (ecosystem, flora and fauna), Culture (dressing, food, music and traditions), Science (Nobel Prize winner) and Arts (piece of art)
  • Come dress up according to your Nation.

April 13th - Eleventh Class

Hello Amazing Students!

Let us remind you the Homework for next class:
  • FINISH reading the Book "Lord of the Flies"
  • Prepare your own Arts Exposition including the following:
    • 3 art pieces related to the themes (civilization v.s. savagery, individualism v.s. community, man v.s. nature, the loss of innocence, the nature of evil, etc.), and/or symbols (the conch shell, the beast, the lord of the flies, the signal fire, etc.) of the Reading Book.
    • 700-word Curatorial Rationale about your art pieces = include at least 10 vocabulary words about art and to include a proper analysis about the reading book. (Presentations below).
    • A 5 min presentation explaining your art exposition to your classmates and teacher.
  • TOEFL Worksheet #7.
  • Study for the 3rd Written Activity = Book Review or Book Report?
    • You will be given a task to write either a Book Review or a Book Report.
    • You will have to write an analysis related to the book "Lord of the Flies".
    • It is imperative you finish reading the book as it will determine your grade.
